Privacy Policy

Applies to the Twins MyBirthday mobile apps and website.

1. Who we are

Twins MyBirthday ("we", "us") is a social application that connects people who share the same birthday. Contact: mybirthdaytwin.app@gmail.com

2. Information we collect

Account data: name, email address, password (stored hashed), date of birth, gender, country, and optional profile photo.

Content you create: stories, greeting cards (their text, and any photo or voice note you attach), wish lists, and the messages you send to other users.

Location: asked for once, while you are signing up, only to fill in your country and city so we can show you the people who share your birthday. We never read your location in the background, and you can edit or clear your country and city at any time from your profile. Some versions of the app do not ask for location at all and let you type your country yourself.

Device data: device push token (for notifications), app language, and basic diagnostics.

3. How we use it

• To operate the core features: matching birthday twins, countdown, cards, stories, and notifications.
• To show your profile and birthday to other users according to your privacy settings. You control who sees your birthday: everyone, friends, selected people, or no one.
• To keep the service safe through blocking, reporting, and moderation.

4. Sharing

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising. Data is shared only with the service providers needed to run the app: Google Firebase for push notifications, and Google Maps for map display, each under their own privacy terms.

5. Your controls and rights

• Edit your profile and privacy settings, including birthday visibility, inside the app.
• Block or report any user.
• Delete your account from inside the app: Profile → Privacy and Security → Delete account. This removes your profile and the content attached to it.
• You can also request access, correction or deletion by writing to mybirthdaytwin.app@gmail.com

6. Data retention and security

We keep your data while your account is active. Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored on secured servers. When your account is deleted, associated personal data is removed within 30 days except where law requires otherwise.

7. Permissions the app asks for

Every permission is requested at the moment you use the feature that needs it, never at launch, and the app works without granting any of them.

• Photos: only to read the single image you pick for your profile picture, a card background, or a story. We never browse the rest of your library.
• Camera: only if you choose to take a new photo instead of picking one.
• Microphone: only while you record a voice note to attach to a card.
• Notifications: to tell you when a card, a friend request or a message arrives.
• Location: as described above.

8. Children

Twins MyBirthday is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced in the app. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
